The pregnancy control visit consists of performing an ultrasound to assess fetal vitality, the baby's growth, and an examination of its anatomy to rule out malformations. The placenta and amniotic fluid are also evaluated.
In addition to the ultrasound, blood pressure and maternal weight are measured, and the tests conducted at each stage of pregnancy are assessed, as well as maternal symptoms that may indicate any pathology.
The process always starts with a 2D ultrasound, and if necessary, a Doppler study is performed to observe the blood flow through the umbilical cord or the fetal blood vessels.
The 3D ultrasound is a three-dimensional ultrasound where we can see the fetus more realistically and better assess its anatomy.
The 4D ultrasound is a 3D ultrasound with movement, where we can see how the baby moves its arms and legs, opens its eyes, yawns, smiles, etc.
